#TBT As we near the end of 2022, we look back on some of the patients we treated this past year. Great Horned Owl 22-89 was the first nestling of more than 300 we received this year, arriving on March 16 from Pasadena. Great Horned Owls are always the first young raptors to arrive at our center each year, as they typically start nesting in January. The owl had fallen from her nest but was luckily unharmed aside from a few minor bruises. Unfortunately, the nest was unreachable and the nestling was not able to be reunited with her parents, so she was rehabilitate at Ojai Raptor Center. During her four months in care, the owl grew, gained strength, learned to fly, and learned to hunt live prey. She was released to the wild on July 28. Our supporters made the rehabilitation of this Great Horned Owl possible as well as the treatment of the nearly 900 patients we have seen this year. There is still time to make your tax-deductible donation to support Ojai Raptor Center in 2022. To donate, visit the link in bio.
