It has been a serious week of tender memories, as the Queen of England was laid to rest, with the entire world watching the royal traditions and private moments of her family. In our own family, today is a serious day as well, the anniversary of the death of my late son Nick, who died from suicide at nineteen, and will be forever loved, cherished and remembered. He was bi polar all his life, and the foundation in his name, The Nick Traina Foundation, has helped thousands of sufferers of mental illness since his passing. On a more personal level, we cherish the happy memories, I remember this day perfectly. Nick was just turning four years old, fully bi polar already since he was two. I was expecting Samantha, and Nick and I climbed into bed all dressed for a cuddle and a big giggle. We shared nineteen precious years of love and laughter and tears, and I send my love and sympathy to all the people who have lost loved ones to mental illness. #daniellesteel
