Just a Curly hair appreciation post bc high school Jade would neverrrrr ✨ I didn’t realize how much I would dim my own light by being ashamed of my natural hair when I was younger. Poor baby Jade, she didn’t know how to not give a effffff. She’d straighten her hair almost everyday just to fit in & look like everyone else. There wasn’t too many girls that looked like her with her hair around where she grew up. She was told her hair was too poofy, frizzy, big or distracting. She would internalize those comments and believe them, pinchin herself off from the realization of her own unique beauty. The unique beautiful that everyone else had around her as well, wether they looked like her or not. I’m so proud of her now and how healthy her curls are and how much she embraces her authentic self now🥰 not just the hair but everything alll around, her mind body & soul. If high school Jade would look at herself now she would be in disbelief. I don’t even think she would recognize herself. I’m everything she thought she never was or ever could be or have within herself ❤️
