The worldwide market for #detox and #cleanse products is staggering, and January is the month when influencers and celebrities promote expensive products claiming to eliminate #toxins. But this is utter junk, as I explain here - all it does is promote pseudoscience and make grifters rich. As Prof Edzard Ernst wrote, detox is a term "hijacked by entrepreneurs, quacks and charlatans to sell a bogus treatment." Save your money, skip the detox. I write more about Detox scams in the Irrational Ape / Good Thinking, but in general the only time you'd actually need an actual detox is if you've been exposed to deadly levels of radioactive or heavy metals & are undergoing emergency chelation therapy, but pretty sure that's not the detox the Kardashians et al are selling 😄
