We were delighted to welcome the award-winning Chinese tailor and expert embroiderer Weimin Chang to our @dumfrieshouse headquarters recently. Weimin, a teacher in fashion design who established the luxury store Yi Bespoke in Beijing, taught students specialist Chinese embroidery techniques in our Textile Training Centre on Dumfries House estate. “I really enjoyed sharing my experience with the students,” he said. “The value of good tailoring is not just in the clothes itself but in the history of bespoke clothing and the UK’s culture and heritage in tailoring.” To find out about our work in fashion and textiles education and training, visit princes-foundation.org/education
