Recently had a conversation with a good friend and longtime photographer discussing the way in which we interpret and digest media now. We are constantly immersed and inundated with hundreds if not thousands of incredible images daily many of which are shown on a screen not much larger than our hands. In some ways it’s really cool and in other ways can be extremely frustrating with the amount of effort, energy, and trial and error that goes into the images we like to create and share. Fortunately, for me it’s always been about the process of waking up early and being surrounded by nature, the water, the elements and doing my best to capture the light. This image is a new personal favorite and was made not too far from home. For now I’m calling it Space, but we’ll see if that name evolves.
