🪩 every time i take a picture i am preserving history 🪩 i think about how much i wish i had photos of my great grandmother's travels across the southern coast of haiti as she made a living in her younger years. how i wish i had just one picture of what her mother looked like. social media is a trip but i really am grateful to be able to take photos to remember the things people and events that matter to me. i am grateful to extraordinary friends like @whatsarahsdoing for taking such gorgeous pictures of me right before temple burn at @burningman (y'all book her!) and most of all i am grateful to amazing women owned brands like @yarnmanyc for giving me a custom piece that made me feel like royalty at the burn. thank you for reminding me that our heritage and history are worth nourishing and preserving 🙏🏾 👙by @yarnmanyc 🧣by @hirbawi
