People often ask if I always knew I would be a hairstylist. The answer is no. I NEVER wanted to make “hair” a career. I knew that I could do it, but never wanted to full time. When I was younger (high school) people would ask “are you going to cosmetology school after you graduate?” I would frustratingly respond, “No, I’m going to be in business.” That response was so vague because I still didn’t know what business I was referring to lol. I later went to college majoring in business entrepreneurship, minoring in creative writing. And let me tell you...I was miserable. I felt like I was just going through the motions. After finally saying yes and submitting myself to what God created for me at that moment, everything clicked. I went to Cosmo school and it all made sense, and still is. By my yes, God has opened so many doors. So, I say all of this to say that you know what your purpose is. Sometimes it’s so simple and we make it difficult. Sometimes it may not be something that you want to do. But, it was created for you to do before the foundation of the earth. It’s easy and a breath of fresh air and leads to whatever else there is for you to do. I’m not only a hairstylist, though. There’s more. This was just beginning. I encourage everyone to be please say yes. Listen to His still, soft voice. I’m excited to see what else the Lord has.
