In 1998, I opened my 4th restaurant, the Mercer Kitchen. Today, we close the doors after almost 25 years. There’s so much to say about this restaurant and the people who have been with me before and during the restaurants tenure.
This was the first time I worked with Herve Descottes (which then begun a longtime partnership), our first restaurant in NYC to have a communal table, our first restaurant to serve the truffle pizza - so many firsts, so many great experiences and memories that I will forever cherish.
Thank you to Andre Balazs, Lois Freedman, Ira Drukier, Richard Born, Kerry Simon, Chris Beischer, and Christian Liaigre for the incredible partnership in opening this restaurant. To many many more people who have worked with us at Mercer Kitchen and to our loyal guests who frequented the restaurant throughout the years.
We hosted a celebration of Mercer Kitchen on Monday with close friends and it was the perfect way to bid adieu. Thank you to everyone again, words can’t express how I am feeling right now.
