A fact I ♥️ about the female body. Most wounds take 4–6 weeks to repair & leave a scar. Yet during menstruation (or the period), the lining of the womb is shed and it goes through similar repair and regeneration like any healing process in the body except that it happens within 5 days, it leaves no scars and it happens over and over again for decades (450-500 times!) I didn’t always appreciate my body - I don’t always appreciate it & I still experience conflicted feelings about my cycle but each month when it starts over I try to focus on how beautiful and amazing this whole process is - and how incredible my body is.
