Everyone who knows me knows I’m VERY open and honest about politics, human rights, and more. I often say my mom was like a ‘mini Malcolm X’ because she raised me to be aware of my rights and to understand why America is the way it is. I’m grateful for this, because it allows me to educate my peers and anyone willing to listen! Voting is a privilege, and it’s not cute to be ignorant about the injustices we face as women, people of color, and, most importantly, as Americans. BLACK WOMEN didn’t even gain the right to vote until 1965. I am a second-generation American and incredibly proud of it 🇭🇳, which makes me even more grateful to have the opportunity and a platform! I voted for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz because I want a better America, for my many many LGBTQIA+ friends and family, the children, OUR PLANET, and for all women, especially women of color. We are in this together, and it warms my heart to see my timeline filled with blue because I know I surround myself with educated, loving, and caring people. This isn’t a ‘let’s all love each other’ Kumbaya situation to avoid the obvious problems we face, remember that.
