this album goes out to my friends it goes out to every single party where i've dropped by late just to say hi and went back home quickly to catch some sleep before an early sunday session it goes out to all the people that kept on inviting me despite knowing that i probably wouldn't show up it goes out to the people who told me to be careful, to get some rest, to not place all my value in my ability to be good at making music, but also see that i have qualities as a human being as well it goes out to the 'are you okay'-s i wish i answered more honestly it goes out to the 'i'm really glad you came'-s i wish i replied to with 'i'm really glad you invited me, thank you for seeing me for who i am' this album is part of the reason i maybe didn't reply, i maybe forgot your birthday and i maybe didn't contact you even though i thought about you, and still do it's a series of stories i've picked up along the way, it's me trying to give a voice to the little things that changed my life. the things that deserve a microphone on a stage with an audience and a thunderous applause that echoes so forcefully through the air that it makes ripples in time and space, so loud that we let our universe know for certain that we were here, fragile yet unafraid, trying to master the impossible art of balancing boundless love and endless grief, and if they ever ask us our name they WILL know, we are human. human then, human now and a thousandfold times over and over. my fellow reptiles, i'll see you tomorrow, and we'll enter a new era together. ❤️🐊 :')
