Reflecting back on this spontaneous experience from @iistlfestival, in awe of how it all came together. ⠀ When @aobenson asked me to come on board as the Creative Director of Festival of Nations, I hadn’t planned on performing this year as there was so much work to do behind the scenes, but I am so glad that I did because it birthed some beautiful moments. ⠀ Despite only having 2 full run throughs before the performance with the incredible @shacko_kitoko1, @alohamisho and @jeffnations, we were able to pull off an impactful set that was made even more powerful when a few kids told Aloha that they wanted to come up on stage with us for the last song. We welcomed them, and they were joined by so many others, making for a really emotional experience from the stage. ⠀ God’s presence was felt throughout, which was fitting because the lyrics to the chorus are in Swahili - “Mungu yu mwema, Hallelujah Amen,” meaning “God is great, Hallelujah Amen. ⠀ Planning for Festival of Nations 2023 is already underway, and we are taking it to a whole other level.
