Last night I had the opportunity to witness & celebrate the extraordinary hard work, perseverance, determination and passion put forth by Karen and her campaign supporters. My ties to the city of Los Angeles are deep and lasting. I was born and raised here, attended UCLA and built my career in this city. With this unique perspective, I understand how a thriving L.A. can enhance and uplift its residents. More so, I recognize the obstacles facing Los Angeles, and the uphill battle we face to return this city to the shining mecca of the west coast. Since an early age, I’ve watched firsthand as Karen devoted herself to a life of service by working to better the lives of South Los Angeles residents and beyond. She taught me and my childhood friends to speak up, get involved and be the change we would like to see in this world.
