And if you’re looking to avoid the crowds and the heat, plan your visit before Memorial Day or after Labor Day - ✈️ HOW TO GET HERE • Fly into Rapid City, South Dakota and rent a car. Badlands is about an hour east of Rapid City. - ⛺️ WHERE TO STAY • Wall, South Dakota is the closest town • Rapid City will have the most hotel choices • Two campgrounds can be found in the park • A great boondocking spot is located just outside the Pinnacles Entrance Station - Whose been to Badlands?
