Tech Tuesday Review: @foreo_official Espada, a blue LED device that I’ll be adding to my acne arsenal... you use it for 30 seconds a couple of times a day. I’ll use it in addition to a combo of masks, lotions and pimple patches (aka spot dots) with different ingredients depending on the stage of the zit. Save this post for when the spotty time comes!
If you can feel oil and sebum building up under the skin use a gentle acid like lactic acid to exfoliate dead skin cells that often clog pores and trigger breakouts.
Early stage pimples need “drawing” ingredients to pull the oil and sebum out. Look for clay masks, sulphur and salicylic acid (I like @mariobadescu drawing lotion). Benzoyl Peroxide can also be effective as it peels away the layers of skin.
Once they’re in full swing make sure you’re applying pimple patches every night (and even during the day if you’re at home). The “hydrocolloid” properties of the patch keep the spot clean and provides the ideal environment for skin to heal. Many pimple patches also contain blemish and bacteria fighting ingredients like salicylic acid, tea tree oils and hydrating, calming and anti inflammatory ingredients to help heal. I love @zitsticka (they also have a handy cleaning wipe to use before the sticker) @peaceoutskincare and @byebyeblemish_anz . #ad #giftedproduct
