This year, my birthday present to myself was the gift of my old eyebrows. The ones I had before I wanted to ‘be like the other girls’ and I plucked them all out in the late 90’s / 00’s. - I’ve never been nervous for a tattoo appointment, until this one. And for literally, zero reason. How I feel now, when I look in the mirror and don’t immediately self shame for making a poor decision as a teen, is priceless. How we speak to ourselves, matters most. Until I did this for myself [two weeks ago], I spent every moment that I used a brow pencil, internally criticizing myself for something I could change and was scared to go do. Unnecessary fear, and zero shame. - Sharing this for anyone who needs some sort of permission or validation to go get their brows back, like I was seeking for years prior to making this move.
