🏰 The Prince’s Foundation is supporting Braemar Community Limited as an advisor for their Raising The Standard restoration project of Braemar Castle. The castle has been a distinctive feature of the Braemar landscape for almost 400 years, and has thrived as a popular tourist attraction run by the local community since 2007. Now, as the castle shows signs of its age, the community is delivering a new £1.6m vision to conserve the castle, re-develop its grounds, and take it out into the community through an ambitious programme for learning and engagement. Contractors for the project have, in recent weeks, made huge strides on the conservation of the castle and have transformed it with new harling. Recognising the great opportunity for heritage education that the conservation project presents, Braemar Community Limited are delivering a “Meet The Builders” series of site visits.
