What should you pack for a bikepacking trip?
As we all know, there is no right or wrong when it comes to bikepacking. With so many options, it can be hard to find what works for you.
With that in mind, we’re starting a new series showcasing some of our communities setups to give you some ideas and inspiration. There is no trip too big or too small and we would love to hear about your adventure. We’re kicking it off with a special one!
@lucas.bunbitos is about to embark on an epic trip across the whole of Europe, so we thought
he would be a perfect person to kick this series off.
“LIBRE is a performance based art project that explores the intersection of endurance, movement, and creation. For 40-50 days, I’ll cycle solo and self-sufficiently along the 7,600 km European Divide Trail, carrying a 200x200 cm canvas that will evolve through contact with the elements. Wind, rain, mud, and terrain will become the painters, marking the canvas and transforming it into a living archive of the journey. The project questions how effort, fatigue, and the raw experience of a landscape can become part of the creative process”
We asked Lucas what 3 pieces of kit that he was most looking forward to using during the trip
1. “My @arcteryxausnz shell and insulated jacket. An essential for the cold nights and the rough start through Norway, Finland, and Sweden”
2. “All the @apidura bags. My bike is my home for the next 50 days — these will keep everything dry while looking slick and dialed”
3. “My @quocshoes The white color might be a bold choice for a trip like this, but I’m curious to see how they evolve. They’re like a blank canvas too, ready to collect stories”
Got questions? Drop them in the comments. Lucas will try and reply, but it may be delayed. He’s going to be pretty busy pedaling..
