In the 2nd or 3rd grade I found a copy of It’s Dark and Hell is Hot in my dad’s CD collection. I immediately fell in love with your music and would go on to download Kazaa so I could spend days on end ripping all your songs. Your music was the soundtrack to so many classic movie scenes, yet it never lost its depth. No one expressed frustration, pain, struggle, joy the way you did. You were pivotal in shaping my lifelong love for hip hop, and your personal growth continued to inspire far beyond music. It was a gift to be able to photograph your Easter prayer almost exactly two years ago. Thank you for all that you gave to us.
