Billie Clarken (b. 1992, Fairfax, VA) lives and works in Berlin, Germany. Their work directs referential signs and objects in a satirical performance of the immortal image. Often returning to tropes in television culture, Billie points out the paradoxes of a projected identity in the search for authenticity, capturing use-objects and borrowed memory to install the evolving narrative of the Western consumer. @billie_clarken Three works are currently on view at America Unframed Kleine Auguststraße 2-3 10119 Berlin — No One Else Would Be Able to Make Those Mistakes on Purpose, 2024 UV print on hand painted mirror, artist frame 24 x 35 inches Chewing Tongue, 2024 UV print on foam individually locked in acrylic DVD security box 6 x 8 inches Static Operator, 2023 UV print on foam individually locked in acrylic DVD security box 6 x 8 inches
