Did you know that if your toddler points to a red balloon and says, “blue,” they’ve made a big breakthrough? 🎈It shows that they’re aware of the concept of color and that objects have attributes that can distinguish them from each other. On average, toddlers start successfully matching colors when they’re about 2.5 years old. 🎨 The Drop and Match Dot Catcher is a great tool for practicing color matching, hand-eye coordination, and fine motor skills. When your child begins to show an interest in color-matching, you can use this plaything to support their development with these progressive activities: 🔵 Let your child drop dots of any color into any column on the board. 🟢 Group the dots by color in stacks and identify the color of each stack for your child. 🟡 Fill a column with the dots that match its ringed slots. Encourage your child to fill the column next to yours. 🔴 Add dots from left to right to make a row, counting as you drop each dot. Ask your child to complete the next row. You can find the Drop and Match Dot Catcher in the Helper Play Kit at the link in our bio. ✨ Video by Pamela Silva #Lovevery #ColorMatching #ToddlerTips #ToddlerSubscriptionBox
