Today and everyday I celebrate the first responders, the fire fighters, the police officers, the good people that sacrificed themselves to save others. I thank you for your service everyday, but especially on September 11th, 2001. I will never forget the courage that was displayed that day and the unity and humanity that was displayed for days/weeks there after. When we say “we’ll never forget” we need to now truly mean it. Let’s remember the tragedy, but let’s remember the way we as humans rallied in the face of it. When the towers fell those that showed up to help did not stop and ask who identified with what politics? They just showed up and helped their fellow man. Let’s get back to that.
