Did you know? Air pollution is the largest environment-based threat to human health. According to the @who, air pollution was responsible for around 4.2 million deaths in 2016. The causes of air pollution are similar to the causes of climate change. Fossil fuel combustion emits both greenhouse gases and pollutants,
including the tiny particulate matter (PM2.5) that is a
major cause of air pollution-linked illness. Because cities have high population density and many emission-producing activities, they tend to be air pollution hotspots.
It’s important for everyone to be mindful of their emissions. Try to cut down on emission-producing activities like driving by carpooling with a friend or taking public transportation. How will you cut down your emissions? Comment below!
