my dad walked to school barefoot, witnessed the fall of a dictator, worked at a shipyard in portugal as a teenager, did time in the air force, somehow moved to the US where he met my mom, eventually moving back to pursue a life as a missionary. we moved around a lot and i know it was never easy dealing with two obnoxious kids that never settled down, but my parents never let the trials of life seep into our daily lives, where we could live in abundance. i’m sure it’s not easy when your first kid decides to get up and leave to america to pursue music, a pursuit that historically has a zero chance of success, but i’ve had nothing but support and help from my parents and i wouldn’t be where i am without them.
