Shout out to the amazing, Rita Wilson! I met Rita when I interviewed her for a GRAMMY Museum virtual program during the pandemic. I was so impressed with her love of songs and songwriting, it was one of the most enjoyable long form interviews I ever had the pleasure of conducting. When I started putting this album together, I knew the kind of voice I wanted for “Through the Storm” and her’s was absolutely perfect for it. And without knowing me well she took a chance and flew to NYC to record the song. One of my favorite memories of making the album was a very moving conversation I had with her in the studio that day about faith and family. She’s been such a blessing to this project and now she’s even been kind enough to mention our nomination in her recent interviews in Forbes and American Songwriter for her own projects. If you don’t know yet, that in addition to being a great actor/producer, she’s also a fantastic singer and songwriter, you know now!! Thank you, Rita!
