#ParisPhoto booth spotlight: Alex Webb’s (@webb_norriswebb) vibrant color photograph of a complex scene in Bombardopolis, Haiti 🇭🇹⁠ ⁠ Opening tomorrow, the Magnum Gallery @parisphotofair booth (F12) curated by @martinparrstudio exhibits two works by Alex Webb. The photograph shown here is from the photobook ‘Under A Grudging Sun’, Webb’s two-year documentation of “Haiti-Libere” – photographs of Haiti from the departure of “Baby Doc” Duvalier in 1986 to the accession of Manigat in 1988. It charts Haiti’s passage from the initial excitement and enthusiasm at the end of the Duvalier regime to the increasing chaos and ultimately violence of the subsequent two years. ⁠ ⁠ Magnum Photos continues its 75th-anniversary celebrations with a program of events, talks and book signings during Paris Photo Week 2022.
