Get cosy, watch your favourite Christmas movie and indulge in these mince pie cookies and salted caramel hot chocolate. 🎅📽 Tag someone you want to make these with! 🎄 🍪 Ingredients: For the cookie dough (makes 10-12) 140g butter 140g dark brown soft sugar 110g caster sugar 1 egg 100g Taste the Difference blood orange mincemeat Zest of 1 orange 1 tsp cinnamon 1tsp baking powder 3⁄4 tsp bicarbonate of soda 3⁄4 tsp salt, plus extra to finish 250g plain flour 150g chocolate, roughly chopped (dark, milk or both) Hot Chocolate (makes 1 mug) 2 tsp Sainsbury’s salted caramel hot chocolate 200ml whole milk 100ml double cream 1 chocolate square 💫 Method: For the cookies, cream together the butter and sugars together until combined. Add the egg, mincemeat and half the zest of orange. Mix the dried ingredients together in another bowl and add into the wet ingredients, stirring until combined. Now add the chocolate. Weigh out 70g balls of cookie dough and chill in the fridge for at least 2 hours. Preheat the oven to 180c and arrange the cookie dough balls over some lined baking trays, leaving plenty of space for spreading. Sprinkle over the remaining orange zest. Bake for 12-14 minutes and finish with some flaky sea salt once they’re out of the oven. To make the hot chocolate, add 2 heaped teaspoons of the hot chocolate powder to a mug. Heat the milk either in a microwave, pan or a milk frother. Meanwhile whip the cream to soft peaks with a whisk. Stir the milk quickly into the chocolate powder until smooth.
