I read years ago that a childhood consists of only 18 summers. I used to think that was plenty, that the end of childhood was so, so far away. As my children began to grow though, I found myself counting each summer, watching the numbers climb, and realizing just how small the number 18 really is. I can’t believe it, but I’m almost done counting now, and every summer, as happy as I am watching my children bloom, stretch up to the sun, and unfold into the incredible humans they are, I’m also sad. I also wish with my whole heart, for more sweet, slow-moving seasons together. Here’s to 17 summers. Make every single one count 💚 Xo Roda #firstdayofschool #childhood
