This year Father’s Day is on Juneteenth. My father would have had genuine satisfaction to be able to celebrate this shared day. I’d like to think that my best impulses and my deepest commitments are owed to his life long sense of personal responsibility and his capacity to show what it means to be accountable, to be the justice he fought for in the world, in his work, in his community activism, and as my dad.
