Most of you who interact with me personally already know that my decision to not attend Burning Man has not changed since 2018. But it is the season, and I am receiving quite a few very kind inquiries whether I will be on the playa this year, so without making too big a statement, i'll say here that once again, I will not be attending the festival. There are no dramatic reasons for this decision. No trauma, no hard feelings, no love-lost, no "it's complicated". Just the fact that I went thirteen times, and then it kinda felt that it was enough. Burning Man is amazing, and I can totally envision my return someday, and I am sure I will immediately feel at home when that time comes. At the moment, I think I will return to the dust when a creative project calls me that can only be executed on the playa (either because of its scope, ridiculousness, or illegality). Until then I am happy to apply my creativity and Burner-spirit in the real world 24/7. After so many years of Burning, the best parts of the festival's ethos are a part of who I am, and you can count on many more projects from me that celebrate this connection. To those of you about to embark on their journeys: I hope the experience fills your hearts and energizes your spirits. FYB!
