I was living in a stereotypical world where women are often described as pretty in a long black hair, thin, and fair skin. Being in the model industry for 8 years requires me to have a commercial look to get a job. And yes, I’ve been faking it til’ I make it to the top and embracing the look that doesn’t really match my personality at all. But hey, isn’t the world like that? You need to achieve certain “standards” to be accepted in the society. I had enough fame and exposure for not being myself, on early Feb I decided to cut my hair short and it was one of the best decisions I’ve taken in my life. A part of me feels so relieved and some aren’t. Eventually, I have to face the industry with this non stereotypical look. I want to show the world that I can be who I am, a woman with short hair, a non stereotypical look deserves a place in the industry here in Indonesia. We can look pretty and fearless at the same time. It’s me, a woman with a masculine look and a feminine heart.
