Headphones 🎧 are best for this one! This week’s entry is hella delayed, but not because I couldn’t finish the tune but because I am an idiot when it comes to computers. I’ve been making the recording by just singing to the tracks I’ve made on a Bluetooth speaker and using the mic from the iPhone but this week’s entry needs more of a vocal treatment to make it make sense. After getting some help last night from my computer graphics whiz homie Nick Vranizan I’ve finally been able to sync up the audio with the vid. I’m also doing a very different kind of song than I’ve ever done before. I occasionally have songs like this floating around in my head but because it’s so far away from the kind of music that I usually perform, they never make it onto the page or onto a record. So, this one is really scary for me. But I suppose that’s what this #asongbysunday exercise is all about. Apparently, I’ve been possessed by the ghost of a fake Jamaican and I’m “rapping/ toasting” for the first (and maybe last) time ever in my whole life. Either way, I’ve gotta admit that it was hella fun stepping into this character this week.
