This last trip I kept looking at Whiskey and wondering how many more years we have of big objectives. How many more years can we scramble, cross glaciers, summit big peaks, and pick our way through boulder fields?
I'm counting down through the next years plans and dreams and hoping we can finish this one peak, or try this backcountry adventure. But what I really want is to watch Whiskey at home on her mountains, rolling and scratching her back in the tundra, and looking down on the world from a cliff as she loves to. We took her scrambling at 6 months and it's her favorite thing.
Even though she's 8 and Bourbon's a very agile 2, Whiskey has still got her beat on the most technical terrain, and more confidence on exposure and bridges, and ladders. For now, I'll treasure every single hike we get to do and try and dream big, take a ton of photos, and load on the joint supplements!
