FREE COOKIES! @Best Damn Cookies and I created “The QQ Cookie” together. The cookie is inspired by my Taiwanese-American roots. Tomorrow, May 27th (starting from 11am), BDC and I will be giving out mini versions of “The QQ Cookie” right in front of @artbeancoffee (📍19 Doyers St, New York, NY) as a part of the Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month party that I’m co-hosting with Artbean and @Welcome to Chinatown BDC will also be selling their other famous cookies, and this is the last time you’ll be able to get their cookies in person before they take a break for the summer and only ship cookies nationwide with @Goldbelly. In Taiwan, certain foods are often described as “QQ” when they have a slightly chewy and bouncy texture. Taro and sweet potato balls are a popular dessert in Taiwan (especially in Jiufen) that are served with a cold ginger and brown sugar-based soup. Our limited-edition cookie has subtle notes of ginger and is topped with caramelized brown sugar drizzle and a mango jam made from @@Yun Hai Shop’s dried mangoes. Chef Dave also handmade the taro and sweet potato QQ cubes that garnishes each cookie.
