Right at the tail end of the #ottomanempire, the Bulgarian Orthodox community was jostling for their own, unique place to worship (one where they didn’t have to listen to services in Greek/Latin, instead in their native tongue). The Sultan granted them their wish, and this church was ordered from #vienna and assembled on-site (prefab cast-iron churches!)
