Dove headfirst into rocket photography this weekend, shooting the last #DeltaIVHeavy rocket to launch out of the west coast @vandenberg_sfb. Met a group of insanely talented photographers who have dedicated their lives to capturing rocket launches—one of the most spectacular feats of human engineering ever. Even though I'm still learning the lingo and have many notes for next time, I'm beyond excited by what I captured. Thanks to @sipausa, I was granted access to this welcoming club of space nerds to set cameras down on the @ulalaunch pad just a few hundred feet away from the rocket. Mind you, she stood almost 250ft tall and carried a million-pound payload into space. 🤯 Here are a few selected moments from my experience, including the final mission launch checklist over the radio, remote camera capture, and shots of lift-off from one of the closest viewing points for civilians, about 3miles away!
