If your toddler seems more reluctant to try new foods than they were as a baby, it’s probably not a cause for concern. Pickiness is a natural part of toddlerhood.🙅Your little one may just need many exposures to a food to get comfortable with it. You can help them by encouraging them to explore what’s on their plate with their senses. They can: 🍴 Use a fork to poke it. ✋ Touch it with their hands. 👃 Smell it. 😗 Bring it to their mouth to feel it on their lips. 😋 Lick it. 🥑 Put it in their mouth and then take it out again. Your child might need to repeat this with a food many times before they're willing to take a bite of it for the first time. While they may still not like that food, you can keep it in rotation to make sure they stay familiar with it. If you have any concerns about your child’s eating, it’s always appropriate to consult their pediatrician. Tell us what your little one’s favorite food is in the comments! Safety note: Solid food can present a choking hazard. Please stay current on child CPR and first aid via a certified instructor. Make sure your toddler’s food is thoroughly cooked and appropriate for their eating skill level. Offer food only when your child is sitting upright. If choking occurs, please administer first aid based on your training and call 911 (or your local equivalent) immediately. If introducing common allergens, closely monitor your child for reactions. If swelling, wheezing, vomiting, or diarrhea develops, seek immediate medical attention. #Lovevery #Mealtime #PickyEater #ToddlerTips #ParentingTips
