@quannah.rose has walked dozens of runways, appeared on the cover of #VogueMexico, and starred in campaigns for Chanel, DKNY, and Chloe. But she’ll never forget her roots. In fact, as a member of the Hän Gwich'in and Sičangu-Oglala Lakota tribes, she feels a calling to educate others about Native identity in the hope of broadening views.
"I don’t want people to be embarrassed or whatever, because it’s not their fault that they don’t know. It’s the school system, it’s society. We [Native people] are so erased that people don’t even know that we’re still here. I see all over TikTok and Instagram, other people talking about Native Americans in the past tense as if we’re not here anymore. That’s what I’m trying to change.”
Read about how Quannah is changing the fashion and beauty industries with a strategy that is rooted in “calling in” versus “calling out,” a method that seeks to hold the beauty industry accountable for #Indigenous erasure, at the #linkinbio.
