#tailpiecetuesday Posted @withregram • @wellstrungguitars This 1994 Gibson Flying V Signature is a tribute to the late and legendary Lonnie Mack. Lonnie was a blues-rock icon who recorded music for and with some incredible and notable artists. He was known for his quick picking and vibrato-enhanced whammy bar guitar style which influenced some of the biggest names in the game. This piece is a replica of Mack’s own 50’s Flying V, one that he had refinished in Cherry and mounted a Bigsby Tailpiece to. By using a metal brace in between the two wings of the V, Mack was able to secure the bottom of the tailpiece. This model is an incredible replica, as Gibson was very careful to match the exact specifics of Mack’s guitar. The result is this incredible instrument.
