it’s almost time to #vote and EVERYONE has the #right to have their #voices heard. democracy is a #communal effort. democracy is up to us. to this day, marginalized folks...black, brown, people with disabilities, those facing economic hardship, senior citizens to name a few have a harder time voting (for a multitude of reasons not getting into here) and are the most at risk for being left out of crucial decision making that effects their lives. initiatives like @michelleobama ‘s @whenweallvote are changing the culture around voting, making voting education and voting itself more accessible and helping to close the age & race gap. their #HBCU campaign #voteloud is another step in this initiative. by empowering students at HBCUs to create #nonpartisan #votingsquads and educating and mobilizing on campuses and within their communities, black youth and their families will be empowered to #vote.
