Introducing Julio Cabrera, founder of @cafelatrovamiami and Julep’s next bar takeover! Julio and his team are coming to Houston and taking over our bar on August 29th, 7-10 pm. Julio will bring five of his signature cocktails to Houston as well as a small food menu from Cafe La Trova. Julep’s outdoor area will be converted to a cigar bar, complete with music from a Cuban jazz band. For over 30 years Julio has captured the attention and hearts of the most impressive industry legends, rum connoisseurs and consumers from across the globe. He is recognized for his deep passion, authenticity and knowledge of classic cocktails, mixology and preserving the legacy of Cuban “Cantineros," the longest running and most prestigious bartenders guild in the world. His most recent endeavor, Cafe La Trova, garnered him the #28 spot on the list of World’s 50 Best Bars in 2021 and the 6th Best Bar in North America in 2022 (Julep was No. 46). Julio has also been recognized as the most imaginative bartender in America by GQ and Bombay Sapphire and American Bartender of the Year Spirited Award at Tales of the Cocktail.
