Our May #SisterSpotlight is on Soror Mariah Christian (32-A-20)! Driven, passionate and dedicated are just a few words that we would use to describe Soror Christian. Since beginning her time at Howard, Soror Christian has been an active student both on and off campus. In 2020, she was a two time intern on Capitol Hill. She is also a member of Cohort II of the Howard Entertainment Program where she worked as a 2021 Post Production Operations Intern with Amazon Studios. In November 2021, Soror Christian had the opportunity to volunteer as a production assistant at the American Black Film Festival. Her most recent endeavor was producing her undergraduate thesis short film. With scholarship at the forefront of her pursuits, Soror Christian recently graduated with a 4.0 cumulative GPA. While she currently finishes her internship with 522 Productions this spring, she is looking forward to returning as a volunteer with the ABFF next month. In addition to being an essential part of our sisterhood, Soror Christian has served in many capacities within the chapter. During the 2020-2021 school year, she served as the Co-chair of Economic Development during our 2021 May Week. During the 2021-2022 school year, she served as the Journalist and Technology Chair of Alpha Chapter. In addition to this, Soror Christian served as the Co-chair of Political Awareness & Involvement during our 2021 Delta Week. Furthermore, she was the Chair for our highly anticipated 2021 Jabberwock Scholarship Competition which raised $20,000. Soror Christian has always enjoyed expressing herself artistically and has dreams of becoming a creative producer in the film industry in the future. Great success is on the horizon for Soror Christian and we are more than excited to support her as we watch what she does next!
