Happy (almost) Spirit Day! This Spirit Day I got to introduce my personal possibility model, Laverne Cox (!!), and represent GLAAD for the annual ceremony of lighting the Empire State Building PURPLE. Spirit Day is the most visible day of the year dedicated to LGBTQ youth and fighting the bullying that 70% of our youth endures. With the plethora of anti-LGBTQ legislation constantly targeting us, solidarity is more important than ever. Wearing purple tomorrow signals your support to youth who may not feel safe to be themselves, and let’s them know they’re supported and loved just the way are 💜
