I officially partnered with @donjuliotequila to throw a very special kind of event during Miami Art Week. The concept was simple: while Ojas and Don Julio both have a shared following in the nightlife world, both brands are actually rooted in a more intentional connoisseur experience. So in partnering, let’s do a true tasting experience. I built a bespoke sound system, like a hifi that can play for a room of 80 people enjoying a meal, including one handmade turntable and a tube phono pre. Don Julio provided a guided tasting experience with 1942. 🔊🥃 But what transpired was far more special than I expected. We wound up with some of the best DJ’s in the world gathered, many of us carrying vinyl from as far as London, and no one was DJing... we just listened to full tracks on one turntable. I can’t think of a simpler concept but it felt radical and refreshing. Finally, blessed by an amazing closing set by @benjib. More to come!!
