By their very nature of being recycled, the works of #RecyclingBeauty have multiple chronologies and meanings simultaneously: the original ones and those accumulated over time. Thus is the Funerary stele of an athlete, brought to Rome in antiquity as a collector’s item, during the 16th century it was displayed in the garden of Cardinal Cesi. Nevertheless, in 1701 it was sawn into two parts, reused to cover a tomb and a sewer and reassembled in 1957.
