The @lgbtcenternyc is such an incredible beacon in our community in New York and I’m so proud to serve as a member of their Board. When I first moved to NYC it was the first place I went to as a new queer person in the city looking for community and a place that felt like home. Many years later, I’m excited to be a part of the future of this special place that’s doing so much good work in the community and the world for the Queer and Trans Community. While an institution with this long of a history has had to undergo many shifts and changes as our community expands it’s range of people from all different facets that it serves, I’m grateful that as a black, queer, woman I can be a part of the important changes the Center is implementing to reflect those facets!
