icymi 💕 some more photos from the mixmag cover shoot. thank you to anyone who has reposted or reached out to me about the cover. i'm honestly overwhelmed by the response. i haven't done a shoot like this before so I really wanted the whole thing to be just right. I wanted the concept to be personal & something related to the label. astrology felt like an obvious choice for this. my earliest memory of astrology was a book my mom gave me called "who am i" (lol) - it taught me about astrology, chinese zodiac, numerology, birthstones etc - i was obsessed with telling people their star sign from a young age and asking them about it. i'm still the person at the afterparty thats trying to convince people that they don't understand their sign because they don't know their whole birth chart. for the shoot, we decided to use the big 3 signs from my chart - my sun which is in sagittarius, my moon which is in leo, and my rising in gemini. all of these signs mean different things and if you want more information on that, look it up lol. the concept is a deep cut - but the girls who get it, get it. the sagittarius look with the diamond gown is the most elegant but also extra af & loud. the leo look with the suit is confident, strong, and i really felt the most fierce in it, but also the most myself. the gemini look is the last, which we used mirrors to emulate the sign of the twins. its my rising sign, so it means i can come across chatty, eclectic (lol), and fun. i'm beyond thankful for my friends (u kno who u are), support systems & the people i work with (kim, @thenicestisis ) for assuring me i deserved this. like everyone else, i am plagued with imposter syndrome but they made this process that much easier.
