I only really discovered how GOOD Ectoin is, when I had my bad Seb Derm flare a year ago. I knew the benefits, but then I experienced myself how wonderfully this ingredient works. Then two weeks ago, I noticed a flare. I am in a very high stressed work period of the year so I probably should have expected it. The good thing is that, in two weeks, I've resolved the issue and my skin is back! (Footage recorded today). WHY DO I LOVE ECTOIN SO MUCH? Ectoin is a well researched, powerful stress protection molecule referred to as an "extremolyte" that has shown efficacy in vivo in the following areas: - boosting skin's self defense - prevention of uv induced skin damage - wrinkle improvement - improvement of skin roughness and scaling - skin barrier repair and strengthening - reduction of inflammation It's one of those ingredients that I recommend to almost any client who comes to me to create a routine for varying reasons, where sensitivity is an issue before we can really go in with certain actives. (TIP: Always work on repairing skin barrier first. It is worth the wait!). ✅️ And since my bad flare more than a year ago, I know that my skin needs salicylic acid, ectoin and anti inflammatories as well like centella asiatica, mugwort, houttuynia cordata to deal with my Seborrheic Dermatitis. Btw, my skin handles 4% salicylic acid with no issues. Most people don't need more than 2%. 🛑 As much as I loveeee my actives, once I have a seb derm flare, I immediately stop them because I need to avoid any further irritation on skin with a compromised barrier. 🛑 Always remember to SKIP the facial oils when dealing with seb derm because many of them feed the yeast that causes the condition in the first place and can cause the condition to get worst.
