In the first draft of my new memoir Life Lived Wild I ended up with 50 stories and the book was more doorstop than readable tome. Still, friends who read that version missed many of the stories that hit the editor’s floor, including one about my college years in the late 60’s when I dodged the draft to stay out of the Vietnam War. This is a photo of my draft card after I set it on fire during an anti-war protest.
